NFL Week 15 Picks and Predictions
We’re back to a full slate of games in the NFL from here on out. This week, the first Saturday triple-header of the festive season is on the cards. Sunday’s jam-packed slate features the highly anticipated showdown between the Buffalo Bills and Dallas Cowboys before the high-flying Baltimore Ravens take on the Jacksonville Jaguars in Sunday Night Football. Then, the Philadelphia Eagles and the Seattle Seahawks bring down the curtain on the week’s NFL betting action on Monday night.
As ever, we’ve got you covered for all 16 games with NFL picks on the money line and against the spread below.
Los Angeles Chargers vs Las Vegas Raiders
Thursday, Dec. 14, 8:15 pm ET
For a second straight week, NFL betting fans will be treated to a Thursday night matchup that leaves much to be desired. The Chargers (5-8) are sans Justin Herbert from here on after he suffered a season-ending hand injury in their 24-7 loss to the Broncos last week. Enter backup quarterback Easton Stick and, in turn, a cautious +3 point spread that only a brave bettor is going to touch for their NFL picks.
Admittedly, the Raiders (5-8) aren’t that much better and the shine has come off rookie Aidan O’Connell after he capped a three-game losing streak with a pointless 3-0 loss to the Vikings last Sunday. Interim head coach Antonio Pierce is evaluating the starter position, which could be a sign that quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo could be reinstated. If that is the case, the Raiders might be in with a shot to not only win but also cover as the field-goal faves.
NFL Picks:
- Raiders -160
- Raiders -3 (-108)
Thursday Night Football
Chargers versus Raiders, our ranking suggests you have a 34-year chance to win. The under was a popular public pick following the loss to the Raiders despite allowing the Chargers one touchdown despite having Justin Herbert suspended. It’s very easy to spot that this low number was in the fast-paced Las Vegas markets. The whole thing is gone. Do not be surprised if Aidan Oconnell turns over a lot and leaves a short field.
Minnesota Vikings vs Cincinnati Bengals
Saturday, Dec. 16, 1 pm ET
Backup quarterback Jake Browning has risen to the occasion in Joe Burrow’s absence, leading the talented Bengals (7-6) to back-to-back victories over the Jaguars and Colts, respectively.
Similarly, the Vikings (7-6) are relying on backup quarterbacking since Kirk Cousin’s season-ending injury in Week 8. Joshua Dobbs and Nick Mullens have taken turns at the helm, but the jury is out despite a 3-2 record in their last five games. That said, coach Kevin O’Donnell appears to be turning to Nick Mullens for this pivotal AFC tilt. Mullens was the orchestrator of last weekend’s 3-0 victory over the Raiders. Enough said!
NFL Picks:
- Bengals -160
- Bengals -3 (-108)
Pittsburgh Steelers vs Indianapolis Colts
Saturday, Dec. 16, 4:30 pm ET
Mike Tomlin can never be underestimated. In a decade and a half in Pittsburgh, he’s never had a losing season and over his tenure, he’s played in several big games. This is a big game for the Steelers in terms of their playoff aspirations. The problem for Tomlin and his Steelers is their fate currently resting on the shoulders of the error-prone Mitch Trubisky. Can bettors buy in?
Backup Gardiner Minshew has carried the Colts to a 7-6 record in 11 starts, including a four-game winning run before it came to an end in Cincy last weekend. Despite this positive run of form, Cincy is giving under a field goal on the point spread. Are the bookies short-changing Cincy?
NFL Picks:
- Colts -125
- Colts -1.5 (-110)
Denver Broncos vs Detroit Lions
Saturday, Dec. 16, 8:15 pm ET
Look at the Broncos now! After starting the season on a 1-5 record, they flipped the script by winning six of their last seven games and clawed their way back into contention for an AFC wild-card spot. Few would have predicted such a stunning turnaround in their fortunes, especially given Denver’s tough midseason schedule, but it only underscores Sean Peyton’s undeniable credentials.
In Detroit, Peyton comes up against his former protégé Dan Campbell while the Broncos will be looking to wrap up a three-game road stretch on a high against a Lions side that received knocks in its last two outings at home (l. to the Packers 29-22) and on the road (l. to the Bears 28-13). Can the Broncos whip up a surprise in Motown against the NFL odds?
NFL Picks:
- Lions -205
- Broncos +4 (-110)
Chicago Bears vs Cleveland Browns
Sunday, Dec. 17, 1 pm ET
The Bears (5-8) are playing inspired football with Justin Fields now firmly back in the fold, but they face an equally inspired Kevin Stefanski side. The Browns are a tough nut to crack, especially at home where they’ve won six of their seven games. If there’s a defense that could bring Fields back down to earth, it’s this unit anchored by Myles Garrett.
NFL Picks:
- Browns -170
- Browns -3 (-119)
Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs Green Bay Packers
Sunday, Dec. 17, 1 pm ET
The Packers failed to avoid the dreaded letdown on Monday night as they succumbed to a 24-22 loss to the Giants at MetLife Stadium, merely a short week on after stunning the Chiefs 27-19 at Lambeau Field. This week, they’re back at home to take on an inconsistent Buccaneers side that is limited by the unpredictable play of quarterback Baker Mayfield and handicapped by a defense that is past its sell-by date.
NFL Picks:
- Packers -175
- Packers -3 (-110)
Houston Texans vs Tennessee Titans
Sunday, Dec. 17, 1 pm ET
The look-ahead line for this game was Texans -3 before Week 14. But two things happened at the weekend that impacted the market for this game. First, C.J. Stroud was placed in concussion protocol after taking a nasty hit in the Texans’ 30-6 loss to the Jets. Will Levis and the Titans upset the Dolphins 28-27 on Monday night in Miami. As things currently stand, the Titans are the better bet against a banged-up Texans side. That said, maybe keep an eye out for the Texans’ injury report later this week before pulling the trigger for your NFL picks. If Stroud is cleared, the complexion of this matchup is bound to change.
NFL Picks:
- Titans -140
- Titans -2.5 (-110)
New York Jets vs Miami Dolphins
Sunday, Dec. 17, 1 pm ET
Zach Wilson passed for 301 yards and two touchdowns in the Jets’ 30-6 win over the Texans last Sunday. To say it was his best-ever game is an understatement. It came out of nowhere.
Tua Tagovailoa, on the other hand, was found wanting without his go-to wide receiver Tyreek Hill as the Dolphins fritted away a 14-point lead on the way to a costly 28-27 loss to the Titans on Monday night. (Hill suffered an ankle injury and was sidelined for more than the second half of the game as a result.)
While Hills’ status for Sunday remains questionable, the Dolphins are spotting a whopping nine more points per game to the Jets. That’s a lot of points to lay with a team that bottled it in a big way. Isn’t it?
NFL Picks:
- Jets +350
- Jets +9 (-111)
Kansas City Chiefs vs New England Patriots
Sunday, Dec. 17, 1 pm ET
Losing to the Bills put the Chiefs in a challenging predicament in the AFC race, needing to win out to have a shot at the No. 1 seed. On the other hand, the contentious manner of their defeat fired up the Chiefs, especially Mahomes who needed to be held back by his teammates as he tore strips off the referees. Whether you agree or not with Mahomes’ perspective, that sense of injustice could prove to be the catalyst that propels his Chiefs down the stretch. The good news, they face the eliminated Patriots next. Talk about the perfect get-right game.
NFL Picks:
- Chiefs -375
- Chiefs -7.5 (-108)
New York Giants vs New Orleans Saints
Sunday, Dec. 17, 1 pm ET
Derek Carr and the Saints beat up the one-win Panthers to notch their sixth win over a lightweight! On paper, the five-win Giants are right up their street as an under .500 team. However, backup quarterback Tommy DeVito has given the G-men a new lease on life behind a three-game winning streak. Getting the measure of the Saints’ defense will be no mean feat, but the Saints are amongst the worst teams at home going 1-5-0 ATS. Grab the points with the Giants if not the outright win.
NFL Picks:
- Giants +210
- Giants +6 (-110)
Atlanta Falcons vs Carolina Panthers
Sunday, Dec. 17, 1 pm ET
The Panthers became the first team to be eliminated from contention this season. The Falcons, by contrast, are the best team still in the race for the title in a wide-open NFC South that has all three teams tied on a 6-7 record. Look for the Falcons to make things interesting.
NFL Picks:
- Falcons -160
- Falcons -3 (-113)
Washington Commanders vs Los Angeles Rams
Sunday, Dec. 17, 4:05 pm ET
Matthew Stafford and the Rams are rounding out into form down the stretch. They came close to pulling off one of the biggest upsets this season against the Ravens before coming out on the wrong side of a 37-31 overtime decision. The Commanders are coming off a bye week but ride a four-game losing streak as well.
NFL Picks:
- Rams -280
- Raims -6.5 (-108)
San Francisco 49ers vs Arizona Cardinals
Sunday, Dec. 17, 4:05 pm ET
The 49ers moved into the No. 1 seed at the close of Week 14, following their dominant 28-16 victory over the Seahawks and help from the Cowboys’ 33-13 upset over the Eagles. At 3-10 on the season, the Cardinals have nothing to play for save pride and spoilers against their heated divisional rivals. To do that, however, the Cardinals would have to play the game of the season. Don’t hold your breath.
NFL Picks:
- Niners -800
- Niners -12.5 (-111)
Dallas Cowboys vs Buffalo Bills
Sunday, Dec. 17, 4:25 pm ET
This is the marquee game of the week featuring two elite quarterbacks in Dak Prescott and Josh Allen and two championship-worthy teams with huge playoff aspirations. Moreover, both the Cowboys and Bills notched signature wins in Week 14 and they’ll be looking to extend that momentum this weekend. Something’s gotta give.
NFL Picks:
- Bills -130
- Cowboys +2.5 (-110)
Baltimore Ravens vs Jacksonville Jaguars
Sunday, Dec. 17, 8:20 pm ET
The Ravens overcame the Rams in a shootout in overtime while the Jaguars rallied before falling just short of the win in Cleveland. This game has all the hallmarks of a great game, a shootout that could go either way. Few have taken the measure of the Ravens.
NFL Picks:
- Jaguars +145
- Jaguars +3.5 (-116)
Philadelphia Eagles vs Seattle Seahawks
Monday, Dec. 18, 8:15 pm ET
The Seahawks are in the midst of a serious run game and a tough stretch of games, but they’ve nothing to show for it save for a four-game losing streak. Geno Smith’s absence has factored into their recent struggles, but signs are pointing to his return this Monday. That’s good news for the Seahawks, who are fighting to keep their playoff hopes alive.
The markets don’t often move against the Eagles, but they have on this occasion as the line dropped from Eagles -6 in Lookaheads to Eagles -4 entering Week 15. This could be a sign of Smith’s imminent return. The Seahawks are a much tougher out with him in the game. However, Philadelphia’s back-to-back blowout defeats are the more likely triggers. That and the cracks exposed on both sides of the ball by the Chiefs, Bills, Niners, and Cowboys in their last four games.
For now, a lean toward the Seahawks at +4 is worth considering. Alternatively, maybe wait until there’s more information before placing your bets either way.
NFL Picks:
- Eagles -200
- Seahawks +4 (-111)
