antonio pierce head coach raiders

Jocelyn Pierce, the wife of Las Vegas Raiders coach Antonio Pierce, filed for bankruptcy on June 12 in Arizona. The court papers show that Antonio Pierce owes more than $28 million.

Some lenders, like Nissan and Hyundai, want to take money from the Pierces’ assets. Nissan wants $23 million, and Hyundai wants $4.5 million. They even tried to take money from Antonio’s Raiders paycheck. Jocelyn filed for bankruptcy to protect their money and property.

Antonio Pierce was hired as the Raiders’ linebackers coach in 2022. He became the interim head coach last October after the Raiders fired Josh McDaniels. Pierce used to play in the NFL and retired in 2009 after nine seasons. He became the head coach in January after a 5-4 record in nine games.

The terms of Antonio’s contract with the Raiders are not public, and no one from the Raiders or Antonio’s agent would comment.

Antonio’s money troubles started in the 2010s when he invested in some car dealerships. When these businesses failed, lenders went after Antonio and others who guaranteed the loans.

In 2020, Antonio Pierce was named in a class-action lawsuit in Pennsylvania. The lawsuit said he and others promoted a “Set for Life Program” even though they knew the businesses were failing. This case is still open. Recently, Hyundai asked to dismiss an arbitration related to the lawsuit, and Nissan appointed an arbitrator.

Antonio Pierce’s money problems come at a tough time. He needs to focus on leading the Raiders this season. People watching NFL lines might wonder if his off-field issues will affect his coaching. His financial troubles could be a big distraction.

Raiders Target Shedeur Sanders as Top QB Prospect for 2025 Draft

The Las Vegas Raiders are interested in Shedeur Sanders, a talented quarterback for the 2025 NFL Draft. A recent mock draft says Sanders is a top pick because of his great college performance.

Shedeur Sanders showed amazing skills in college, with 44 big passing plays and 17 big rushing plays. In his first Division 1 season in 2023, Sanders threw for 3,230 yards and 27 touchdowns. He completed 69.3% of his passes and had only three interceptions. NFL scouts and analysts are very impressed with him.

Right now, the Raiders have Aidan O’Connell and Gardner Minshew as quarterbacks. They are seen as short-term solutions. The team is looking at both players to see if they can be long-term options. But Sanders could be the franchise quarterback they need because of his college stats and skills.

he Raiders will be watching Sanders’ development closely. This season is important for O’Connell, who has a chance to prove himself as the long-term quarterback. If he doesn’t do well, the team might look at Sanders in the 2025 Draft.

All these decisions will be crucial in how the Raiders’ quarterback choices play out. They will be important for the team’s future.
