Trump and Harris Want to Win Wisconsin
Presidential Election odds and news:
Trump and Harris Host Opposing Rallies in Milwaukee to Win Wisconsin
Vice President Kamala Harris and former President Donald Trump will hold opposing rallies this Friday night in the Milwaukee area, making a final push for votes in Wisconsin, a key state in the elections.
Milwaukee: A Key Battleground
Milwaukee is home to the largest number of Democratic voters in Wisconsin, but its conservative suburbs are crucial for Trump, who is trying to reclaim a state he won in 2016 and lost in 2020. In 2020, a decline in support in these suburbs and an increase in Democratic votes in the city contributed to his defeat.
Both rallies, with Trump in downtown Milwaukee and Harris in a nearby suburb, could be the candidates’ last appearances in the state before Election Day. Analysts say the race is very tight for Wisconsin’s 10 electoral votes, where four of the last six presidential elections were decided by less than a point.
Strategies at Play
Democrats know they must mobilize voters in Milwaukee, which has the largest Black population in the state, to counter Trump’s support in the suburbs. Harris is aiming to replicate and exceed the turnout from 2020, where 79% of voters in the city supported Biden.
Meanwhile, Trump is trying to cut into the Democrats’ margin, adopting a “lose by less” mentality. Before heading to Milwaukee, Harris campaigned in Janesville, highlighting her support for unions, while Trump met with voters in Dearborn, the largest Arab-majority city in the U.S., seeking to connect with working-class voters.
An Atmosphere of Anticipation
Democrats in Milwaukee are feeling “anxious and cautiously optimistic.” In a late effort to attract Black voters, former President Bill Clinton also campaigned in the city.
Harris, who did not repeat Hillary Clinton’s mistake in 2016 of not campaigning in Wisconsin, will visit the state for the ninth time as a presidential candidate. This will be Trump’s tenth visit to Wisconsin, underscoring the state’s importance in this contest.
With less than a week until the voting and polls showing tight races in many states, the Presidential Election Odds  are more interesting than ever as we look to see who will be the new president starting next year.
Preparations for Election Day
The Milwaukee Election Commission estimates it will receive more than 100,000 ballots by Election Day, although early vote returns have been lower in the conservative suburbs. Trump’s rally will take place in the same location where the Republican convention was held three months ago, while Harris’s rally will feature artists like Cardi B and the Isley Brothers.
