Thursday Night Football Odds Week 11

The NFL Week 11 schedule opens with a pivotal NFC East clash to improve the Thursday Night Football odds as the Washington Commanders travel to take on the Philadelphia Eagles at Lincoln Financial Field.

The Eagles currently hold the top spot in the division with a half-game lead over the Commanders, making this matchup crucial for both teams’ playoff hopes and NFL Futures. Both teams are coming off competitive games, with Philadelphia extending their winning streak to five games and Washington narrowly missing out on a win against Pittsburgh.

Washington Commanders

Washington heads into this matchup with a 7-3 record and is second in the NFC East. In their last game, the Commanders suffered a 28-27 home loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers. They failed to hold a late lead and ultimately fell after a crucial fourth-down miscue.

The Commanders led most of the game but gave up a late touchdown that proved to be the difference. Despite forcing two turnovers, Washington was outgained in total offense 312-242 and lost the time-of-possession battle by a wide margin, controlling the ball for just 23:49 compared to Pittsburgh’s 36:11.

The Commanders’ offense has been effective this season, ranking 3rd in scoring with an average of 29 points per game. Quarterback Jayden Daniels has led the charge, completing 180 262 passes for 2,147 yards, nine touchdowns, and two interceptions. He’s also a key rushing threat, leading Washington with 464 yards and four rushing touchdowns on 85 carries.

Backfield support comes from Brian Robinson Jr., who has rushed for 461 yards and six touchdowns, and Austin Ekeler, who has added 326 yards and four scores on the ground. Top receiver Terry McLaurin has 711 yards and six touchdowns, with contributions from Zach Ertz, Noah Brown, and Ekeler through the air.

On the defensive side, the Commanders have held opponents to 21.7 points per game, ranking 12th in the league in scoring defense. They’ll need a strong showing against an Eagles team that has been one of the top rushing units in the NFL.

Critical injuries to kicker Austin Seibert (hip) and cornerback Marshon Lattimore (hamstring) could impact Washington’s special teams and pass coverage. The Commanders need a complete effort to keep pace with Philadelphia in this crucial divisional showdown.

Philadelphia Eagles

The Eagles come into Week 11 riding a five-game winning streak and looking to maintain their NFC East lead. Philadelphia’s most recent game saw them crush the Dallas Cowboys 34-6 on the road. Philadelphia dominated both sides of the ball, amassing 348 total yards while holding Dallas to just 146 yards.

The Eagles’ defense forced five turnovers, which were critical in securing the victory. Philadelphia’s physicality on offense and defense has been a consistent theme this season, and it will be essential as they face a strong Commanders team.

Philadelphia’s offense ranks 7th in scoring, averaging 25.9 points per game. Its exceptionally effective run game ranks 2nd in the league at 176.1 rushing yards per contest. Jalen Hurts has thrown for 1,976 yards with 12 touchdowns against five interceptions and has been a consistent threat on the ground, adding 378 rushing yards and ten touchdowns.

Hurts’ dual-threat ability has helped open up the run game, allowing Saquon Barkley to lead the team with 991 yards and six rushing touchdowns. Key receivers A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith provide reliable options in the passing game, contributing 1,040 receiving yards and seven touchdowns this season.

Philadelphia’s defense has been a force, ranking 5th in scoring defense by allowing only 17.9 points per game. Linebacker Christian Rozeboom and cornerback Jaylen McCollough, who leads the team with four interceptions, anchor the defensive unit. However, injuries could play a role, with wide receiver DeVonta Smith (hamstring) and tight end Dallas Goedert (ankle) not practicing early in the week. The Eagles are well-positioned to perform, especially with home-field advantage.

Prediction

This matchup is shaping up to be one of the season’s most competitive Thursday night games, as both teams are in solid playoff positions and separated by just half a game. Washington’s offense, led by Jayden Daniels, can keep the game close, but Philadelphia’s defense and dominant run game give them an edge.

The Eagles’ five-game winning streak has given them momentum, and they have proven difficult to beat at home. While Washington should stay competitive, Philadelphia’s balanced offense and efficient defense should allow them to cover the spread in a closely contested game.

Prediction: Philadelphia Eagles -3.5
