Cleveland Browns rookie defensive tackle Mike Hall Jr. was arrested on Tuesday following an alleged domestic dispute that took place on Monday night. 

A spokesperson from the Avon, Ohio, police department confirmed that the incident involved Hall and his fiancée. The police were called around 10 p.m. by a woman identifying herself as the mother of Hall’s fiancée, who reported aggressive behavior stemming from an argument between the couple.

What We Know About the Incident

The incident report details a disturbing series of events. The woman told the 911 dispatcher that Hall had pushed her daughter and hit her with a baby bottle. As the situation escalated, Hall allegedly tried to force the woman out of the house, dragging her on her back across the front porch and down the driveway. 

The report further alleges that Hall followed the woman into a room with a handgun and pressed the weapon against her temple.

When the police arrived at the scene, they found two handguns—a .40-caliber Glock and a 9mm Smith & Wesson—on a mattress. The damage observed in the house matched the events described by the woman, and Hall was subsequently taken into custody.

The Browns organization acknowledged the situation and released a statement on Tuesday morning. The team confirmed their awareness of the incident and stated that Hall and his representatives had communicated with them. The Browns are gathering more information and have refrained from further commenting.

Who is Mike Hall Jr.? 

Mike Hall Jr. was selected by the Browns as the 54th overall pick in the second round of the 2024 NFL Draft. A native of Streetsboro, Ohio, Hall attended Streetsboro High School before playing college football at Ohio State. During his time with the Buckeyes, Hall developed a reputation as a formidable defensive tackle despite injuries that limited his playing time. 

In his college career, Hall recorded 19 pressures and 5 sacks. His performance in limited action caught the attention of NFL scouts, leading to his selection by his hometown team.
