Horse Racing Odds: McKulick Leads Star-Studded Field

Horse Racing Odds: McKulick Leads Star-Studded Field in Saratoga’s Flower Bowl Stakes

The Grade 2 Flower Bowl Stakes at Saratoga Race Course is set to be an exciting contest, with Klaravich Stables’ McKulick leading the charge as the favorite.

This $500,000, 1 3/8-mile inner turf marathon for older fillies and mares offers a coveted “Win and You’re In” berth to the Breeders’ Cup Filly and Mare Turf in November at Del Mar, making it an attention-worthy event on the Saratoga betting calendar.

McKulick, trained by the renowned Chad Brown, aims to secure her seventh graded stakes victory. The 5-year-old Frankel mare is coming off a strong performance in the Grade 2 Glens Falls Stakes, where she delivered a 2 1/4-length win, earning a career-best 96 Beyer Speed Figure.

Her consistent record at Saratoga, with five in-the-money finishes from six starts, highlights her affinity for the track, making her a prime candidate for bettors considering offtrack betting options.

War Like Goddess and Parnac: The Main Challengers

One of the primary challengers in the Flower Bowl is George Krikorian’s War Like Goddess, a multiple Grade 1 winner trained by Hall of Famer Bill Mott.

This 7-year-old English Channel mare is no stranger to success at Saratoga, having won the Flower Bowl in 2021. War Like Goddess enters this year’s race after a victory in the Grade 3 Robert G. Dick Memorial at Delaware Park, showcasing her readiness for another top-level performance. Her experience and tactical versatility make her a significant contender in the horse racing odds for this race.

Another key player is Parnac, trained by Christophe Clement. Parnac finished second to McKulick in the Glens Falls and will look to reverse that result in the Flower Bowl.

With a solid record, including last year’s upset victory in this same race, Parnac has proven she can compete at this level. Clement also has La Mehana entered, who seeks her first U.S. victory after a successful career in France.

International Contenders

Rounding out the field are several intriguing entries, including the European stakes-winner Verbier, who will make her U.S. debut for trainer Ralph Beckett. Verbier’s presence adds international flair to the race, and her performance will be closely watched.

Godolphin’s Eternal Hope, trained by Charlie Appleby, is another notable contender. Although she finished fourth in the Glens Falls, her previous graded stakes victories suggest she has the potential to make an impact in this race.

With McKulick looking to extend her winning streak and other talented fillies and mares, this race promises to be a highlight of the Saratoga meet.
