Beatbox Set for Keeneland November Sale After Successful Racing Career
Beatbox, a Grade 1 winner and half-brother to multiple Grade 1 winner Guarana, has officially retired from racing and will be offered as a stallion prospect at the Keeneland November breeding stock sale in 2024.
The 6-year-old horse, bred in Kentucky by Three Chimneys Farm, will be available for pre-sale inspection in Barn 6 and enter the auction ring on November 12 as hip 3083.
A Successful Career Across Multiple Surfaces
Beatbox showcased his versatility, winning six of 20 starts across different surfaces. His most notable victories include the 2024 Fair Grounds Stakes (G3) on turf at 1 1/8 miles and the 2022 Dust Commander Stakes on Turfway Park’s all-weather course at 1 1/16 miles. Beatbox also secured three stakes placings in Kentucky and Louisiana, amassing career earnings of $427,248 and a solid Saratoga betting record.
Beatbox was a consistent performer for those who follow offtrack betting, making his mark on the horse racing schedule. Trained by Cherie DeVaux for owners Jeff Ganje and Rob Comestro, he was praised for his reliability and solid performances. DeVaux highlighted Beatbox’s consistency, noting that he was a joy to have around the barn and a pleasure to train.
Pedigree and Stallion Potential
Beatbox’s pedigree adds significant value to his stallion potential. Sired by multiple Grade 1 winner Pioneerof the Nile, who also produced 2015 Triple Crown winner American Pharoah, Beatbox has strong bloodlines.
His dam, Magical World, a daughter of Distorted Humor, has a distinguished lineage dating to 2005 Breeders’ Cup Distaff (G1) winner Pleasant Home. Magical World also produced Guarana, who won three Grade 1 races and was a finalist for the 2019 Eclipse Award for champion 3-year-old filly.
The horse racing odds for Beatbox’s offspring will likely attract attention, given his strong pedigree and proven success on the track. His immediate family includes several top-tier performers, such as the Grade 1-winning sires Violence, Point of Entry, Tale of Ekati, and champion runners Dayjur and Sky Beauty.
Ganje, co-owner of Beatbox, expressed his confidence in the horse’s future as a stallion prospect, noting that while a recent training setback led to his retirement, the team believes Beatbox has the qualities needed to succeed in the next stage of his career. Ganje, who also campaigns for graded-stakes winner Shotgun Hottie, emphasized their excitement for Beatbox’s future at Stud.
