Giannis Antetokounmpo signs a three-year extension.
Antetokounmpo, who is making his Owen history, has already outstanding numbers, like a 2021 NBA Championship and Finals MVP award and two times as the league’s MVP. His career average high was 31,1 points a season ago and is one of three players in history with an MVP, a Finals MVP, and a Defensive Player of the Year award.
Victor Wembanyama, Immediate impact on the NBA
The number one pick in the past draft, French sensation with only 19-year-old Victor Wembanyama who stands nearly 7-foot-4, is starting to write his own history in the best basketball of the world, the NBA. Made his debut last Wednesday when his team the San Antonio Spurs received in the debut of the season the Dallas Mavericks. His first point in the Association was a 3-pointer at the 8:25 mark of the first quarter. Wembantama posted almost the same exact line as Tim Duncan when the Spurs legend made his first appearance in 1997. Tim Duncan in his debut 15 points, 2 assistance 6/9 Field Goals, Victor Wembanyama in his debut with the Spurs, 15 points, 2 assistance, and 6/9 Filed Goals.
His impact has also been outside the court, this first game was a worldwide event, and the Frost Bank Center was packed to see the opener and his debut. The Spurs received more than 200 media credential requests from eight countries, rivaling the interest shown during the NBA Finals.
Wembanyama’s jersey and T-shirts dominate the stands. The city of San Antonio is desperate for its sixth NBA title after failing to make the playoffs the last four seasons. We are sure that the Wembanyama impact will be noticed on the NBA Lines this season.
Damian Lillard with great debut in the opener at home in Milwaukee
The biggest exchange in the off-season was point guard Damian Lillard, who had played for the Blazers for the last 11 seasons. With a great performance, scored 39 points, the highest point total for a player making his Bucks debut, surpassing the 34 that Terry Cummings scored in 1984. On the other side, Giannis Antetokounmpo added 23 points and 13 rebounds while shooting 10 of 22 from the floor to become the franchise’s career leader in baskets. Giannis has 5,905 career field goals, while Kareem Abdul-Jabbar made 5,902 baskets with the Bucks from 1969-75.
The first game opener in Milwaukee had the Bucks receiving the Philadelphia 76ers, late in the second quarter the Sixers were trailing 57-38, but were able to crawl back into the game going with a 14-0 run, but they couldn’t slow down Lillard the rest of the way.
