NFL ANALYSIS: WEEK 6 (10/15/23)
San Francisco 49ers vs Cleveland Browns
The 49ers have suffered their first loss in the season, their quarterback Brock Purdy also lost its first game and the winning steak stopped at 15 when the rookie kicker Jake Moody missed a 41-yard field goal with six seconds remaining, letting the local team, Cleveland Browns have the final victory 19-17 on Sunday.
On Brown’s side, its kicker Dustin Hopkins kicked four field goals, the last one with 1:40 left, but the team was without its starter quarterback Deshaun Watson, who missed his second straight game with a bruised right shoulder.
The Browns with good defense
Not only did they give the 23-year-old quarterback his first loss, but they also kept him off balance and he completed just 12 of 27 passes (44%) -well below his league-leading average (72,1%) coming in. The 49ers were without Christian McCaffrey and Deebo Samuel, who both went out with injuries. It was an exciting game until the end. Moody who had missed a 54-yard in the first half, at the end was the hero with the perfect kick.
Arizona Cardinals vs Los Angeles Rams
The Los Angeles Rams just ran over the Arizona Cards 26-9, basically running the ball, which is something this team does not play a lot, had Kyren Williams rushed for a career-high 158 yards and a touchdown, and Cooper Kupp made seven receptions for 148 yards and his first TD of the season.
Rams coach Sean McVay, changed dramatically his strategy in the second half, putting the ball in the runnersā hands, even calling eight consecutive runs starting the third quarter. The former Notre Dame player Williams broke off runs of 31, 27, 17, and 14 yards after halftime and also had his TD, Williams has had 58 carries in the last three games. This is the most the team has had since Akers had 171 against the Patriots three years ago.
But the passing was also great, quarterback Matthew Stafford passed for 226 yards and Cooper Kupp caught a 13-yard TD pass, he hasnāt played a lot because of a hamstring injury in training camp, and he also missed the final eight games of last season.
New England Patriots vs Las Vegas Raiders
āThe Patsā continue with their bad season and lose again to the Las Vegas Raiders 21-17, the game had its intrigues, with former players like quarterbacks Jimmy Garoppolo and Brian Hoyer playing against the Pats. Garoppolo played the first half before being ruled out with a back injury. He completed 14 of 22 passes for 162 yards with a touchdown and interception.
Bill Belichick who is reaching 300 wins in his brilliant career, couldnāt beat his former longtime offensive coordinator, McDaniels, and itās the first time in Belichickās career that he starts the season 1-5 with the Patriots.
On the Raiders side, Josh Jacobs rushed for 77 yards, and the rookie tight end Michael Mayer caught five passes for 75 yards. Mayer had three catches for 41 yards entering the game,
The Patriots have lost three games in a row, they ended a 79-point scoring streak by their opponents and a 10-quarter drought without a touchdown.
Philadelphia Eagles vs New York Jets
Another undefeated team in the season lost on Sunday, the last 12 games in a row the Eagles had beaten the Jets. Philadelphia was not able to score in the second half and the final score was 20-14 for the Jets.
Breece Hall ran for an 8-yard touchdown with 1:46 remaining, one play after Tony Adams intercepted Jalen Hurts, and the Jets erased an 11-point deficit and held on to shock the Eagles.
Jalen Hurts finished 28 of 45 for 280 yards and a touchdown to DāAndre Swift, but he tied a career-worst with three picks against Jets defense. The Jets missed great opportunities and made mistakes, to win the game.
The Jets are .500, even after losing their big star the quarterback Aaron Rodgers who went down with a torn left Achilles tendon four plays into his debut with New York. The Jets beat the Bills, the Broncos, and now the Eagles.
Quarterback Wilson was 19 of 33 for 186 yards and no touchdowns and no turnovers, Greg Zuerlein kicked four field goals and Bryce Hall and Quinen Williams each had interceptions.
Washington Commanders vs Atlanta Falcons
The Commanders were coming off a three-game losing streak and with the defense doing the big job, beat the Falcons in Atlanta 24-16. They were coming off a 40-20 home loss to the lowly Chicago Bears and now get to .500 (3-3) just like the Falcons.
Sam Howell threw three sort passes for touchdowns, on the other side quarterback Desmond Ridder threw three critical interceptions. The visitors trailed 7-3 in the first quarter, then Sam Howell started getting big in the game, he finished the game with 14 of 23 completions for 151 yards and three touchdowns.
Kendall Fuller veteran cornerback was the player of the game as he picked off the Falcons quarterback twice, including one in the end zone in the fourth quarter in what could have been the game-tying touchdown.
Seattle Seahawks Vrs Cincinnati Bengals
After a slow start, the Bengals get their second win in a row to improve to 3-3 after winning on Sunday 17-13 against the Seahawks.
The Bengals were able to get points on their first two possessions, but punted six points, giving Seattle the late chances.
Burrow, was 24 for 35 for 185 yards, 2 TDs, and 1 interception, took him 13 plays to get to the end zone on the other hand Geno Smith, had 323 yards, o TD, and 2 interceptions. On the running side, Mixon of the Bengals ran for 38 yards and Walker III of Settle ran for 62 yards.
The Bengals will have a bye week and then on the 29th of October they will have a big game, they must visit the 49ers in San Francisco on the other hand Seattle will host the Cardinals next Sunday.
