The defending NFC champs, the NFL Franchise Philadelphia Eagles will open the new season traveling to Gillette Stadium, against the AFC, New England Patriots. In the past five seasons the Eagles have a record of 5-1 in season openers and lead the all-time series against New England 8-7, but since 2000, the Eagles have only won two against the Pats.

Times have changed and Philadelphia had a better season in 2023 when they made it to the Super Bowl, where they lost against the Kansas City Chief, while the Patriots went 8-9 and failed to make the playoffs.

CAN THE EAGLES WIN IT ALL THIS SEASON

Free agency the team did lose some valuable players like, defensive tackle Javon Hargrave, running back Miles Sanders, offensive linemen Andre Dillard, and Isaac Seumalo, linebacker T.J Edwards, and safeties Marcus Epps and Chauncey Garner-Johnson. They were able to retain cornerbacks James Bradberry and Darius Slay, center Jason Kelce, and defensive lineman Fletcher Swift. Two new players running back position, acquiring D’Andre Swift from the Lions and signing Rashaad Penny.

Can Jalen Hurts have another great year, Let’s see his numbers from the past campaign, 3,701 yards, 22 touchdowns passing, raising his passer rating from 87,2 in 2021 to 101,5 and adding 760 yards and 13 touchdowns rushing. The NFL Lines look very good for the Philadelphia Eagles.

 

CAN THE PATS BE BETTER THIS SEASON

The Pats quarterback Mac Jones had a good rookie season but can lose his starting position to fourth-round rookie Bailey Zappe. The defense will likely be good again, but their offense must improve, the problem they have had in the post-Brady Pats.

Some additions for the new season are, Juju Smith Schuster, Calvin Anderson, Riley Reiff, cornerback Jonathan Jones and safety Jabrill Peppers, in the draft with value picks on cornerback Christian Gonzalez, edge defender Keion White, they also added a kicker and a punter in the draft.

The problem of the Pats is to be in a very good division, They will probably not have a terrible season, but not higher than fourth in the AFC East and a lot has to do with the development of quarterback Mac Jones and the offense, if they can balance and be as good as the defense to try to make it to the playoffs. The NFL Odds for the Pats are uncertain can they play well and be over .500
