Victor Wembanyama Bounces Back with an Impressive 5×5 Game

The french young player in just a week, had his worst game and then a stellar one , achieving his second 5×5 game , when his team the San Antonio Spurs defeated the Jazz 106-88.

A Stellar Performance

The French player in his second season in the league,  finished with 25 points, 9 rebounds, 7 assists, 5 steals, and 5 blocks, marking at least 5 in 5 categories. This impressive performance makes him the third player in NBA history to achieve multiple 5×5 games, joining legends like Hakeem Olajuwon and Andrei Kirilenko. Wembanyama is also the second player, alongside Olajuwon, to accomplish this while scoring at least 25 points.

Before Wembanyama’s latest all-around display, there had only been 22 recorded instances of a player tallying at least five in each of the NBA’s major stats in a single game, including his first on February 23 as a rookie against the Los Angeles Lakers.

A Turn in the Season

After a slow start to the season, accumulating only 20 points in the previous two losses against the Thunder and Rockets, this historic game could be the turning point Wembanyama needed to return to his spectacular form. In his rookie year, he had already made history by becoming the first player of his class to be named to the All-Defensive First Team.

In a new season the Spurs have a record of 2-3 , and seeing if they can have a better season than the last one, brought some veterans to help the new players and start consolidating a new project around the french phenomenon.
