NBA Odds: Los Angeles Lakers Unveil Their City Edition Uniform and Court for the 2024-25 Season

The Los Angeles Lakers have unveiled their new City Edition uniform for the 2024-25 season and their first City Edition court. The presentation, sponsored by Bibigo, will occur on November 21 during the home game against the Orlando Magic.

Inspired by the Franchise Legacy

This season’s design is inspired by the Lakers’ storied reputation as a franchise that not only wins but does so with style. For the first time in the team’s history, the slogan “Lake Show” predominantly appears on the uniform’s chest. This detail reflects the team’s personality and connection to Los Angeles, symbolizing what the Lakers represent: a world-class show that wins on the brightest stage.

California Destiny: A New Chapter

Dubbed the “California Destiny” uniform, this City Edition design continues the narrative that started last year with the “California Dream” uniform, which celebrated the Lakers’ beginnings in Los Angeles. This new version acknowledges what the team has become: a combination of elite basketball and electrifying presentation.

The uniform features an innovative color progression, with a gradient that transitions from black to purple, symbolizing the team’s 65-year evolution in Los Angeles. Additionally, the trim showcases various shades of purple, with each player sporting a distinctive gradient.

Details Honoring History

The design includes a shadow effect on the jersey numbers, similar to the style from 1999 to 2017, during which the Lakers won five championships. The gold satin twill bordering the numbers represents the bright lights of the Lakers’ home court.

The new City Edition court will display the same gradient effect as the uniform, with 17 stars along the sidelines, the official LA logo at midcourt, and “Lake Show” on each baseline. This will be the Lakers’ first alternate court beyond last year’s NBA Cup court.

Availability and Other Uniforms

The City Edition uniform will be one of several that the Lakers will wear this season, alongside the Icon Edition in gold, the Statement Edition in purple, and the Association Edition in white. It will be available in stores and online starting November 14.
