MLB News: All Star Game Line Ups Revealed

2024 MLB All-Star Game Lineups Revealed

The full 2024 MLB All-Star rosters are set, with Major League Baseball announcing the pitchers and reserves. The best players on the same diamond always make for exciting MLB game lines

The Philadelphia Phillies lead all teams with three starters: first baseman Bryce Harper, third baseman Alec Bohm, and shortstop Trea Turner. Four more Phillies were also selected as All-Stars: pitchers Zack Wheeler, Ranger Suárez, Jeff Hoffman, and Matt Strahm.

The rosters include 32 first-time selections, featuring notable names such as Pittsburgh Pirates rookie right-hander Paul Skenes, Kansas City Royals shortstop Bobby Witt Jr., Elly de la Cruz of the Cincinnati Reds, and rookie outfielder Jackson Merril of the San Diego Padres.

Key Players and Teams

Other significant American League selections and National League selections include Cleveland Guardians designated hitter/outfielder David Fry, first baseman Josh Naylor, third baseman José Ramirez, outfielder Steven Kwan, and relief pitcher Emmanuel Clase.

The Detroit Tigers also have representatives, such as pitcher Tarik Skubal and outfielder Riley Greene. Meanwhile, Minnesota Twins shortstop Carlos Correa was chosen, although he left Sunday’s game against the Houston Astros with an apparent injury after being hit on the hand by a pitch.

Each league’s starting lineup for the 2024 All-Star Game comes from only five teams: the Phillies, Arizona Diamondbacks, Los Angeles Dodgers, Milwaukee Brewers, and Padres in the NL, and the Guardians, Orioles, Astros, Blue Jays, and New York Yankees in the AL. The All-Star Game begins on July 16 at 8 p.m. ET at Globe Life Field.

Notable Snubs

Among the notable snubs are Christian Walker from the Diamondbacks and Francisco Lindor from the Mets. Walker, who ranks third in the NL for home runs, did not make the team due to the intense competition at his position.

Lindor missed out despite ranking seventh in the league in fWAR, mainly because of the presence of other top shortstops and limited roster spots.
