White Abarrio, the 2023 Breeders' Cup Classic winner, is gearing up for another high-stakes showdown with a series of strategic preparations at Gulfstream Park. 

The Maryland Jockey Club (TMJC) has announced the stakes lineup for Laurel Park's 2025 winter-spring meet. The meet will feature 25 stakes races with over $2.6 million in purses. This meeting marks the first under TMJC, a new nonprofit entity established by the Maryland Thoroughbred Racetrack Operating Authority (MTROA). Starting January 1, TMJC will take control of daily racing operations in Maryland and set the stage for an exciting racing season with boosted purses and revamped stakes.

Turfway Park will host an exciting evening of racing on Dec. 14, with the Turfway Park Synthetic Championships. Featuring four $250,000 stakes races over its Tapeta surface, the event has attracted top-tier talent, including Grade 1 winners Exaulted, Stilleto Boy, and Howard Wolowitz. Designed to fill a quieter spot in the sports calendar, this card is poised to capture the attention of horse racing fans and bettors nationwide.

Shadwell Stable’s undefeated Muhimma secured her third consecutive victory with a commanding horse racing odds performance in the Grade 2 Demoiselle Stakes at Aqueduct. Trained by Brad Cox, the 2-year-old filly demonstrated her stamina and versatility in her first two-turn race, leading every step of the way to capture the $250,000 event by one length.  

Hall of Fame trainer Todd Pletcher capped off an impressive weekend with Locked, who secured a resounding victory in the Grade 2 Cigar Mile at Aqueduct.
