NBA ODDS: STEPHEN CURRY SIGNS NEW CONTRACT 

The big star and his team, the Golden State Warriors, have agreed to a one-year extension through the 2026-27 season. It was the most extended deal the Warriors were able to offer him.

Curry, 36, a four-time champion with the Warriors, is guaranteed to receive $178 million over the next three years of his contract.

The team has been expressing its intentions to keep its star for a lifetime all summer, and Warriors general manager Mike Dunleavy Jr. stated, “That guy can get whatever he wants… I think that stuff will get figured out, and he´ll be a Warrior for life.”

HE HAS BEEN THE TEAM’S STAR SINCE HE GOT THERE

The 36 veteran was outstanding in the last two games of the Olympics. He scored 36 points in Team USA´s comeback win over Serbia in the semifinal and added another 24 points to help the Americans hold off France in the gold-medal game.

Curry had good numbers last season with his team. He averaged 26.4 points, 5.1 assists, and 4.5 boards in 74 games. He also played in his 10th All-Star Game and won the honor of Clutch Player of the Year.

Curry, a veteran, was drafted by Golden State with the No. 7 overall pick in 2009. He has played his entire career with the Warriors in the Bay Area. He is the NBA’s all-time leader in 3-pointers. The 10-time All-NBA selection was named to the NBA´s 75th Anniversary Team in 2021.

With his new deal, which will tie him up with the Warriors unit 2026-27 campaign alongside Andrew Wiggins and Draymond Green, his long-time “Splash Brother” Klay Thompson decided to look for new opportunities, signing a new contract with the Dallas Mavericks this summer via a sign-and-trade deal.

The Warriors have been busy in the summer retooling the roster around Curry, adding  3 and D guard DeÁnthony Melton, veteran forward Kyle Anderson, and sharpshooter Buddy Hield. They also added the two rookies Brandin Podziemski and Trayce Jackson, who had solid rookie seasons, and Jonathan Kuminga, who, in his third campaign, was also a good addition. With so much at stake, NBA odds will be closely scrutinized by fans and bettors who are closely following the team’s evolution.

Curry stated, “I´ve always wanted to play for one team my whole career. So it’s good to get (the extension) question out of the way and give complete focus to basketball and the season.”
