NBA Odds: NBA and NHL continues with Diamond Sports

NBA ODDS: DIAMOND SPORTS WILL CONTINUE TO BROADCAST THE NBA AND NHL

Despite undergoing bankruptcy proceedings, Diamond Sports Group, the largest broadcaster of regional sports networks in the United States, will continue televising the games of more than a dozen NBA teams and nine NHL teams during the 2024-2025 season. According to court documents filed on Friday, the company has reached agreements to maintain the broadcast of games, ensuring that fans of these sports have access to their favorite local teams.

TEAMS AFFECTED AND THE FUTURE OF BROADCASTS

The Diamond Sports group, known for operating regional networks under the Bally brand, has renewed broadcasting rights for 13 NBA and nine NHL teams for the upcoming season. These agreements include both linear and direct-to-consumer broadcasting rights, a move that strengthens Diamond’s presence in the sports market and contributes to its financial recovery process. This news is particularly relevant for bettors closely following the NBA odds, as the continuity of these broadcasts ensures they can watch live performances of key teams like the Milwaukee Bucks, Miami Heat, and Los Angeles Clippers, among others.

THE IMPACT OF THE AGREEMENTS ON THE NBA AND NHL

David Preschlack, CEO of Diamond, expressed his gratitude for the ongoing collaboration with the NBA and NHL, highlighting that these new agreements are an essential milestone in the company’s restructuring. However, not all NBA teams will be covered under these new contracts; the Dallas Mavericks and New Orleans Pelicans will be excluded from Diamond Sports’ coverage. This exclusion could impact NBA odds, as bettors must seek alternatives to follow these teams’ performance closely.

THE PATH TO RECOVERY AND THE NEXT STEPS

The agreement is still pending approval from a federal bankruptcy judge, with the next hearing scheduled for September 3 in the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of Texas. Meanwhile, Diamond Sports Group will continue fulfilling its current commitments, ensuring that fans of teams like the Atlanta Hawks, Cleveland Cavaliers, and San Antonio Spurs, among others, can continue enjoying NBA action and adjusting their betting strategies based on NBA odds.

Diamond Sports also broadcasts some Major League Baseball games, although the documents filed on Friday will not affect these. With the NBA and NHL seasons just around the corner, fans and bettors will keep a close eye on how these agreements develop and their impact on the coverage of their favorite teams.
