The Packers Start a New Era Post-Rodgers
After 18 seasons and 15 as the team’s starting quarterback, Aaron Rodgers is gone and Friday will start a new era for the green and yellow. The #10 Jordan Love 25 years old will now have the huge opportunity to fill out Aaron Rodgers’s shoes, tremendous responsibility. With only 83 NFL passes made in his young career, will have another challenge to bring together a core of very young receivers, starting with Christian Watson (24), Romeo Doubs (23), Dontayvion Wicks (22), and Jayden Reed (23) and tight ends Luke Musgrave (22) and Tucker Kraft (22) all entering their first or second pro seasons.
He has been working with coach Matt LaFleur for the past three seasons, preparing him for the new era, once Rodgers was going to leave, he thinks Love has learned from one of the best, more mature and to manage the clubhouse as a leader, with authority.
On the offensive side, their two main runners last season were Aaron Jones who did more than 1,121 yards, for 213 carries, and a couple of TDs. AJ Dillon is their second-best running back, who had 770 yds for 186 carries and 7 TDs.
The receivers for this season will be very young, they lost their best receiver Allen Lazard who followed Aaron Rodgers to the Jets, who had 6 TDs last season. So they rely more on Christin Watson, who made 7 TDs and 611 yards, Robert Tonyan coming from the Bears is a new weapon for Green Bay had 2 TDs for Chicago with 470 yards.
